I've been sitting here for the last few hours trying to think of what to write for my weekly update/blog/diary thing. To be honest, I'm still not quite sure where I'm at with it. Kyle and I "celebrate" our four year anniversary today. (Yay!) But, I use that word very loosely as the borders are still closed for both of our states. He's got work tonight, and I slept in this morning so apart from the 30-second phone call to make sure he was getting up for work - there hasn't been a lot of communication which really kinda sucks.
Our anniversaries are pretty cursed. Normally we're in a completely different state (or country as it was two years ago) so whilst the idea of having it written in history for the 16.6.16 sounds pretty cool, I'm all for changing it up a little! I'm also highly realising that the lack of couple photos between us is actually a crime. I couldn't find any that would be somewhat suitable to post. I'm literally crying internally right now.
However, as I don't think that I've missed a holiday or anniversary present (apart from Easter this year, but I think that's forgivable given the circumstances!)
So this year I sent him up:
- A Book Seat - I actually bought myself one after seeing my sister bring one home, and I think everyone should own one. They basically hold up your tablet, phone, kindle, book etc so you can rest it on your lap or convenient surface. Makes video calling SO much easier.
- I'm Sticking With You - Literally the cutest book of 2020 - it basically summed up our whole relationship in cute children book form
- A super cute card &
- Like three packets of Kinder Buenos because that's his favourite (and I missed Easter.) (I was also informed this was consumed very early this morning in full, so, ya girl knows her man.)
throw back three years ago when I was blonde and 20kgs skinnier and out for our anniversary lunch.... which we were in the middle of a fight!! (at least I looked pretty?)
I'm anticipating getting one of these adorable notebooks for journalling once the whale one comes onto the second release - so watch this space.
Moving Update:
I found out that my blog has a handy countdown button for the estimated time until I jump on the plane (Eep! Less than 90 days!) which is pretty nifty! I've done a whole lot of not a lot in regards to clearing out the storage container this week. I was planning on doing more today but it has been BUCKETING down with rain (hello winter, I see you.) - so it'll be interesting to see how the weather goes in the next few days to see if I can't get some more stuff out.
It's actually really frustrating as our local charity bins aren't taking donations, and I don't really want to toss things out if I can avoid it.
To be honest, it sounds like I'm avoiding doing things - and I probably am. Guess that's one of my toxic traits, eep!
Wait, what's this about studying?
I also threw a bit of a spanner in the moving equation with my local school offering an associates degree in applied design, which is basically everything that I want to do in life regarding content creation. I can do it remotely which is exciting if I get accepted and/or apply - but I don't know if I'm keen to do another two years of study where I should be looking for work, really soon.
It's a tough decision that I have not made yet.
Facebook Group
If you haven't seen already - I have just launched the Writers Chit-Chat group on Facebook. We're open to all writers, no matter what niche you're in (blogger, novelist, poet, etc) - and hoping it'll be a really nice platform for writers to connect. Don't get me wrong, I love Twitter, and I don't think I could ever jump ship at the moment - but questions tend to get a little lost!
If you'd like to join - just fill out the questionnaire through the link ♥
What's on this week?
This week I've got a book review to post for Writings of a Wild Woman + another two posts for Thursday and Sunday. I'm going to be working on my Pinterest, and hopefully editing some more photos from the weekend (not there were that many) BUT there should be some cute ones of Wally coming your way soon.
Let me know in the comments below what you're planning to do this week, or, let me know if there's something you'd like to see covered on the blog!
Until next time,
Anika
Happy Anniversary! It’s a shame you didn’t get to celebrate the way you’d like next year but hopefully that means you can have twice the celebration next year ☺️ Hope all goes well with the move ?

Fadima Mooneira
Happy 4th anniversary to you and Kyle. Hope you guys had a good celebration.

Hey Fadima,
Unfortunately, as the post mentions, we actually didn’t have a good celebration as he was working, and we live currently completely at opposite ends of the country so it was a very hard day!
I appreciate the sentiment though ♥
Michelle
Happy anniversary! Thanks for setting up the Facebook group. I sent you a request to join.
