Tahune | Tasmania

I’ve always loved Tahune. Being super short + being around super large trees = a whole lot of humble.

Admittedly, I haven’t been for years, so when I thought, “Hmm, what would be the first spot that I want to go be?”  – Tahune was that first spot of thought.

So, insert a rather long car ride – a small stop for lunch and a few windy roads and then  BAM, we’ve got Tahune.

My favourite thing about the Air Walk is that it is actually dog friendly, and whilst Tasmania is amazing, there is a fair amount of places that just don’t let dogs in. Fair enough, we have some beautiful things down here and I wouldn’t want anything to threaten that, but jeeez.  Those amazing pictures and videos in America where they can take their fur-kids on long walks through forests and fields can sometimes be to die for.

Anyway, the always famous Wally appreciated his time out of the house.

Tahune is family-friendly, and also has accommodation and other activities that you can check out on their website.

*Editors note
Tasmania suffered devastating bushfires in 2019.  This article was first published in 2018, and showcases images of Tahune from this point in time.  As the airwalk has been unable to open to the public until 2020, and now delayed due to Covid-19 – these images may not accurately represent what the area now looks like.
